Altered Cover Page for Binder

I started with a basic 3 ring white binder.

I cut paper from My Minds Eye 12 x12 Designer Paper (Meadow Lark) to fit  inside plastic

I found 2 papers that I really liked from the paper pack to alter & create my new personalized cover.
I chose the paper with a bird, and a owl which was left over from another project.

My plan was to put these two together and glue onto the black and white design paper above.

Now the fun part! I got out the distress paints, my fave stamps, ink, some coloring markers and started to play with it.
Starting with some distress paints to give it some color!
Using stamps by Tim Holtz and black archival ink.
Colored the butterflies, leaves, flowers and sentiment with markers.
This is my finished cover page for the binder!

Supplies:
12 x12 Designer Paper
3 Ring Binder
 Stamps by Tim Holtz
Black Archival Ink
Distress Paints:

Tims 12 tags of 2016-May

This tags inspiration comes from Tim's 12 tags of 2016-May.

I tried to follow along the best that I could with the supplies I had.
Tim's tags are always so creatively done and full of texture, and he makes it look so easy that who wouldn't be inspired to try them. So I thought I must have a go at it!
Using distress inks, some stamping, stencils and texture paste to start with, I then found some images to work with that took place of the lady rose stamp and spoon that I didn't have, and started to play!
I used a  cherish charm  and attached it with a small pin to the lace. Masked image and spritzed with Tarnished Brass paint mixed with water. Finished the tag with tea dyed seam binding.

Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.

Tissue Wrapping Paper Applied With Mod Podge
I up-cycled a 20 oz can to hold my pencils & stuff. First I applied tissue wrapping paper with Mod Podge and let that dry, and then applied another layer. I loved the texture it gave. Then I applied white acrylic paint over it. Let that dry.
Colored over all with different Distress Paints. Did some sentiment stamping randomly, using black archival ink.
The Happy Flowers Stencil from ARTplorations was applied using texture paste mixed with some orange acrylic paint. Inspirational words were printed out and applied with glue stick to complete my altered can/pencil holder. One of my passions is to upcycle & alter!

Happy Flowers Stencil Tag

My tag was inspired by Cornelia at Stamplorations- stenciling on patterned paper, masking and moving your stencil around to fit in the flowers.
I also used her tip on using washi tape to hold down the stencil so it doesn't shift while your working with it.
Thank You Cornelia for giving me the inspiration to create today!
